In 2017 the wife and I added a dog to our existing pet family. We named her Dakota. Now I'm not saying she was a handful, she was only seven months old when we rescued her. So if any of my readers ever had a puppy, you know how it goes. So after a short amount of time we realized that she needs socializing with other dogs to burn off her energy. So we found where our local dog park was and started taking Dakota there daily. When I say daily, I mean everyday for no less than 2 to 4 hours. (sometime much longer) It really helped Dakota and us too. A few months would go by and on occasion there was this dog that Dakota really seems to like playing with.
And that's how I met I first met Rob Coccagna (Director), his wife and their dog Ellie. Dakota and Ellie became friends almost instantaneously. Rob and I stuck up a conversation and I learned that he was actively working in the film industry and I mentioned that I was a writer and amateur filmmaker as well. We talked shop for a bit and kind of hit it off. (Making new friends as one gets older sometimes is a bit of a challenge) However, it turns out Dakota and Ellie had no problem being friends and the two formed some sort of unspoken bound and they became besties.
So as any good dog parent, you make sure the doggies play together each day. Which when looking back at that time, some seven to eight years later, Dakota and Ellie had to see each other everyday. Rob and I would accommodate. These two would play hard, digging holes, getting muddy. They were living their best dog life. The picture below is the four of us getting one of many post-dog park baths.
